Expected Outcomes
Participants will:
Learn the history of natural dyes used by the artist, such as indigo and cochineal, and other materials integral to his work.
Understand the significant effort involved in dyeing with organic pigments, particularly cochineal, pericon (Tagetes lucida), and indigo.
Gain hands-on experience in the dyeing process, creating your own uniquely dyed wool scarf to take home.
