Gallery Attendant/Customer Service

Required skills and qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills

  • Strong understanding of and experience with customer service

  • Strong understanding of and experience with retail money handling procedures

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience in retail or customer service

  • Experience merchandising/display aesthetics for retail

  • Ability to lift and carry for event setups and logistics

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills


Overall Objective: To be the face of the organization, providing a welcoming and informed first impression for all visitors to the facility; and to fulfill the mission, objectives, strategic plan, and the expectations of the CCA Mission and Vision.

Position Description: The Gallery Attendant is the primary customer service employee who has the most interaction with all visitors both in-person and on the phone. The Gallery Attendant is responsible for all retail operations as well as the handling of art sales and providing correct and timely information about all exhibitions, programs, and operations of The Center.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet all visitors in-person and on the phone and provide correct information in a friendly and welcoming manner

  • Maintain tidy and appealing appearance of retail displays and front desk areas

  • Maintain daily tidiness and cleanliness of galleries and facilities

  • Open and close the gallery as needed depending upon shift

  • Work solo and with a team to accomplish tasks

  • Assist other Center employees with administrative tasks on occasion

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director


PART-TIME POSITION  |  HOURS VARIABLE - SHIFT WORK

COMPENSATION: $13/hour
